About Knutsford Church

Knutsford Methodist Church

The second of the two larger churches in the circuit.

The church was built in 1865, and underwent major renovations in 1960's to provide schoolrooms, in the 1980's to strengthen the roof and provide moveable seating in place of pews, and in 2006 when an additional balcony and a rebuild of the schoolrooms were completed to accommodate the expanding membership and community work.

The church is served by one minister with pastoral support and 2 lay workers - a full-time Youth Worker with his work split between Knutsford Methodist Church and The Welcome, and a part-time Children's Worker, providing leadership and support for a very busy congregation. The local community also make good use of the premises, which has become a centre for adult education, arts festivals, social care and entertainment.
