About Alderley Edge Church

Alderley Edge Methodist Church

The church was built at the site on Chapel Road in 1863, its clock-face being the only public one in the village at the time. It is a Grade II listed building and an established landmark in the village.

The interior of the building was extensively transformed in the mid-nineties enabling more flexibility and diversity of use. The clock and spire have been completely refurbished with grants form English Heritage, the National Churches Trust and the Historic Churches of Cheshire Trust through 2011.  Work continues on the inside of the building with further grants from English Heritage.

It continues to host a vibrant worshipping community, and is used for a variety of other local events and activities.

We seek to make our worship stimulating, challenging and relevant to the needs of our congregations. We offer space for all ages to meet and explore faith in different ways. We demonstrate our faith through social action and share fellowship in house groups, in prayer and in regular social events. Alongside this, 'Saturday Coffee' offers time to meet the wider community on a more informal basis.
