Mottram St Andrew Methodist Church

About Mottram St Andrew Chapel

Mottram St Andrew Church

The present Methodist Chapel was built in 1894 and of course, celebrated its Centenary in 1994. It is the only place of Worship within the village boundary, though there is evidence of a thriving Methodist community prior to the present church being built. Further evidence of links with religious matters can be found in local names such as Priest Lane on which the present Chapel stands and the area close by called Kirkleyditch on older maps.
